vInspired:
 Swing the Vote

The brief

To design a campaign to get more young people voting at the 2015 UK general election, when research showed that young people didn’t trust the political system or feel that politics made a difference to their everyday lives – but were passionate about social issues.

The approach

vInspired's research showed that the usual political faces weren’t making much of an impression on under-25s, so I turned to people that they did trust: Youtubers. Together we created a video series that summarised the major parties’ policies and the real-life effects they would have on the ten issues young people cared about most.

THE RESULTS

After the election, 25% of 18 to 25s remembered Swing the Vote, and 46% of them said it had changed the way they thought about politics. The campaign also won the Drum Network’s 2015 Charity Campaign of the Year award, and was highly commended in the Content Marketing category.
